How to cancel Foraging with the "Wildman" and get your money back

Foraging with the "Wildman" is a Food & Drink app by Steve Brill. Canceling and getting refunded are two separate things — most people do the first and assume the second happens automatically. It doesn't.

Based on 100 of the most recent public App Store reviews, sampled September 2026.

Step 1 — Stop the next charge

  1. On iPhone or iPad: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions.
  2. Select Foraging with the "Wildman"Cancel Subscription.
  3. Check that it now says Expires and not Renews. If it still says Renews, it is not canceled.

Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. This is the single most common reason people keep getting charged.

Step 2 — Ask Apple for the charge back

Answer these and you'll get the exact wording to paste into Apple's form. Nothing is sent anywhere — it's generated in your browser.

A detail only you could write makes the request read as yours rather than a form letter.

Recent 1–2★ reviews of Foraging with the "Wildman" on the App Store, about billing:

I was really looking forward to using this app but it’s nearly unusable. Content seem to be pretty good if I could ever get to it reliably. Hoping I can get my money back at this point or maybe 9/10th of my money. Possibly the most disappointing app purchase ever.

This app was such a letdown. It looked great, but one I opened it, it made it so that the only way to actually use it was to send myself a weird email with a bunch of nonsense in the body. I could not exit out of the email, so I never got to use the app I paid for. Every time I opened the app, all I got was the page where it tried to make me email myself. It made no sense! I want my money back.

I have taken classes Steve in the past and was looking for this to be a great app. They still have the email that pops up and I didn’t find the information helpful. I am going to request a refund, expensive for an app that doesn’t work well.

Questions

Can I get a refund after I already canceled Foraging with the "Wildman"?

Yes. Canceling stops future renewals but does not refund a charge that already went through. You request that separately at reportaproblem.apple.com, and "I was charged after I canceled the subscription" is the reason to select.

How long do I have to ask for a refund?

Apple generally expects refund requests within 90 days of the charge. Ask as soon as you notice it — requests on recent charges are approved more often.

Apple declined my request. Is that the end?

No. A first decline is common and is often automated. You can submit the request again with more specific facts and ask for review by a senior advisor. If it is declined again, you can dispute the charge with your card issuer.

Will I lose access to Foraging with the "Wildman" if I cancel?

You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Canceling only stops the next renewal.
