What goes wrong with Endel: Focus & Sleep Sounds billing

We read the 175 recent 1–2★ reviews of Endel: Focus & Sleep Sounds that mention money. These are the specific problems they describe (one review can describe more than one):

What this means for you: The most common complaint is a free trial quietly turning into a paid charge. Ask as soon as you notice it — requests made within days of the charge are approved far more often than ones made weeks later. Pick "A free trial turned into a paid subscription" in the form below and say when the trial started and that you never meant to continue.

Check first: 3 reviewers say Endel: Focus & Sleep Sounds charged them outside Apple. If it is not listed in your Apple subscriptions, Apple's refund form will not help — see the last question at the bottom of this page.

Step 1 — Stop the next charge

  1. On iPhone or iPad open Settings and tap your name at the very top.
  2. Tap Subscriptions, then Endel: Focus & Sleep Sounds.
  3. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.

Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. This is the single most common reason people keep getting charged.

Then check it actually worked

Look at the date line under the subscription. This one word tells you whether you are still being charged:

Renews 12 Oct 2026 Still charging you Expires 12 Oct 2026 Canceled correctly

If it still says Renews, the cancellation did not go through — go back and do it again. Either way, a charge that already happened is refunded separately, in Step 2.

Step 2 — Ask Apple for the charge back

Answer these and you'll get the exact wording to paste into Apple's form. Nothing is sent anywhere — it's generated in your browser.

Free — the refund request to send Apple. No account, no email required.

$5.99 one time — the appeal letter for when Apple declines your first request, plus the chargeback letter for your card issuer if Apple still says no. Emailed to you. Not a subscription. Nothing renews. Full refund on request — see Refund Policy.

A detail only you could write makes the request read as yours rather than a form letter.

This is a fraud app. I had to close my card due to unauthorized charge from this app

This app does not show up in your apple subscriptions. But that doesn’t keep them from trying over and over and over again to deduct a yearly payment. After which they proceed to ask you questions for five minutes before they actually cancel your subscription.

So I did the free trial and realized it just wasn’t something I would really use that much, and didn’t notice any changes while using. So I go to settings and unsubscribe… or so I thought I did. It’s a 5 step process that I thought was just a simple click of a continue button. They first ask if you’ll take a survey before unsubscribing, but you also have the “continue” option. I hit that thinking that was all I neede…

Questions

Can I get a refund after I already canceled Endel: Focus & Sleep Sounds?

Yes. Canceling stops future renewals but does not refund a charge that already went through. You request that separately at reportaproblem.apple.com, and "I was charged after I canceled the subscription" is the reason to select.

How long do I have to ask for a refund?

Apple generally expects refund requests within 90 days of the charge. Ask as soon as you notice it — requests on recent charges are approved more often.

Apple declined my request. Is that the end?

No. A first decline is common and is often automated. You can submit the request again with more specific facts and ask for review by a senior advisor. If it is declined again, you can dispute the charge with your card issuer.

Will I lose access to Endel: Focus & Sleep Sounds if I cancel?

You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Canceling only stops the next renewal.

Endel: Focus & Sleep Sounds is not listed in my Apple subscriptions, but I am still being charged. What now?

Then Apple is not the one charging you — the company is billing your card or PayPal directly, and reportaproblem.apple.com will not help. Check your card or PayPal statement for the merchant name, cancel from your account on that company website, and ask them for the refund in writing. If they do not answer within a few days, dispute the charge with your bank or card issuer instead.
