How to cancel Plant Identifier: Plantiary and get your money back

Plant Identifier: Plantiary is a Education app by Blacke Teknoloji Sanayi Ve Ticaret Limited Sirketi. Canceling and getting refunded are two separate things — most people do the first and assume the second happens automatically. It doesn't.

What goes wrong with Plant Identifier: Plantiary billing

We read the 107 recent 1–2★ reviews of Plant Identifier: Plantiary that mention money. These are the specific problems they describe (one review can describe more than one):

What this means for you: The most common complaint is a free trial quietly turning into a paid charge. Ask as soon as you notice it — requests made within days of the charge are approved far more often than ones made weeks later. Pick "A free trial turned into a paid subscription" in the form below and say when the trial started and that you never meant to continue.

Step 1 — Stop the next charge

  1. On iPhone or iPad open Settings and tap your name at the very top.
  2. Tap Subscriptions, then Plant Identifier: Plantiary.
  3. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.

Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. This is the single most common reason people keep getting charged.

Then check it actually worked

Look at the date line under the subscription. This one word tells you whether you are still being charged:

Renews 12 Oct 2026 Still charging you Expires 12 Oct 2026 Canceled correctly

If it still says Renews, the cancellation did not go through — go back and do it again. Either way, a charge that already happened is refunded separately, in Step 2.

Step 2 — Ask Apple for the charge back

Answer these and you'll get the exact wording to paste into Apple's form. Nothing is sent anywhere — it's generated in your browser.

Free — the refund request to send Apple. No account, no email required.

$5.99 one time — the appeal letter for when Apple declines your first request, plus the chargeback letter for your card issuer if Apple still says no. Emailed to you. Not a subscription. Nothing renews. Full refund on request — see Refund Policy.

A detail only you could write makes the request read as yours rather than a form letter.

Recent 1–2★ reviews of Plant Identifier: Plantiary on the App Store, about billing:

I hoped I could get a diagnosis for issues with houseplants and outdoor plants. It would either say “healthy plant” (which missed clear indications of a problem) and/or identified the plant incorrectly. Anytime it gave a diagnosis, it was a standard diagnosis that included every possibility. You still had to figure out which issue your plant is having. Too much or too little water, stress, too much or too little ligh…

I bought the Life Time subscription of this app which they no longer offer. And I can’t restore my subscription so the only offer is to start a new one which I’m not going to. I’ve emailed asking about this however nobody’s reached back out. Very disappointed because I enjoyed the app.

Despite the fact that I configured the app to remind me before it renewed, it did not. By default, it charges your account $9.99 a week. If you get this, cancel right away, or you will find that you paid $10 to use the app for two weeks (one week free and the next when you forgot to cancel in time).

Questions

Can I get a refund after I already canceled Plant Identifier: Plantiary?

Yes. Canceling stops future renewals but does not refund a charge that already went through. You request that separately at reportaproblem.apple.com, and "I was charged after I canceled the subscription" is the reason to select.

How long do I have to ask for a refund?

Apple generally expects refund requests within 90 days of the charge. Ask as soon as you notice it — requests on recent charges are approved more often.

Apple declined my request. Is that the end?

No. A first decline is common and is often automated. You can submit the request again with more specific facts and ask for review by a senior advisor. If it is declined again, you can dispute the charge with your card issuer.

Will I lose access to Plant Identifier: Plantiary if I cancel?

You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Canceling only stops the next renewal.

Plant Identifier: Plantiary is not listed in my Apple subscriptions, but I am still being charged. What now?

Then Apple is not the one charging you — the company is billing your card or PayPal directly, and reportaproblem.apple.com will not help. Check your card or PayPal statement for the merchant name, cancel from your account on that company website, and ask them for the refund in writing. If they do not answer within a few days, dispute the charge with your bank or card issuer instead.
