What goes wrong with Solo: Your Gig Business App billing
We read the 111 recent 1–2★ reviews of Solo: Your Gig Business App that mention money. These are the specific problems they describe (one review can describe more than one):
- Free trial turned into a paid charge29
- Charged after canceling6
- Paid, then core features stayed locked4
- Could not find a way to cancel2
What this means for you: The most common complaint is a free trial quietly turning into a paid charge. Ask as soon as you notice it — requests made within days of the charge are approved far more often than ones made weeks later. Pick "A free trial turned into a paid subscription" in the form below and say when the trial started and that you never meant to continue.
Step 1 — Stop the next charge
- On iPhone or iPad open Settings and tap your name at the very top.
- Tap Subscriptions, then Solo: Your Gig Business App.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. This is the single most common reason people keep getting charged.
Then check it actually worked
Look at the date line under the subscription. This one word tells you whether you are still being charged:
If it still says Renews, the cancellation did not go through — go back and do it again. Either way, a charge that already happened is refunded separately, in Step 2.
Step 2 — Ask Apple for the charge back
Answer these and you'll get the exact wording to paste into Apple's form. Nothing is sent anywhere — it's generated in your browser.
Free — the refund request to send Apple. No account, no email required.
$5.99 one time — the appeal letter for when Apple declines your first request, plus the chargeback letter for your card issuer if Apple still says no. Emailed to you. Not a subscription. Nothing renews. Full refund on request — see Refund Policy.
You're not the only one
Recent 1–2★ reviews of Solo: Your Gig Business App on the App Store, about billing:
There is a pay wall right out the gate just to scroll the app and see all the features before you can get anywhere. Talk about Fort Knox before one can even be sold on using the app. What a joke to expect someone to sign up immediately for the free trial before even getting anywhere is like expecting a cash tip upfront before the service is performed. Please rethink that approach devs. It’s the wrong mindset to have …
Was charged 119$ out of the blue this app isn’t even what is advertised. Clunky and cumbersome and is selling your data and wants me to pay 119$ after a free trail yea right give me my money back.
You can’t even delete the account without doing the free trial. It literally prompts you in the profile section that you can’t move around the app without the free trial blocking everything. Don’t DOWNLOAD THEY WILL HAVE YOUR DATA FOREVER. Also read the bs replies the review bot keeps making just because you say you don’t sell data doesn’t mean you actually don’t that why companies get sued for lying about terms and…

Questions
Can I get a refund after I already canceled Solo: Your Gig Business App?
Yes. Canceling stops future renewals but does not refund a charge that already went through. You request that separately at reportaproblem.apple.com, and "I was charged after I canceled the subscription" is the reason to select.
How long do I have to ask for a refund?
Apple generally expects refund requests within 90 days of the charge. Ask as soon as you notice it — requests on recent charges are approved more often.
Apple declined my request. Is that the end?
No. A first decline is common and is often automated. You can submit the request again with more specific facts and ask for review by a senior advisor. If it is declined again, you can dispute the charge with your card issuer.
Will I lose access to Solo: Your Gig Business App if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Canceling only stops the next renewal.
Solo: Your Gig Business App is not listed in my Apple subscriptions, but I am still being charged. What now?
Then Apple is not the one charging you — the company is billing your card or PayPal directly, and reportaproblem.apple.com will not help. Check your card or PayPal statement for the merchant name, cancel from your account on that company website, and ask them for the refund in writing. If they do not answer within a few days, dispute the charge with your bank or card issuer instead.
