What goes wrong with myCar: Car Widgets & Dashboard billing
We read the 149 recent 1–2★ reviews of myCar: Car Widgets & Dashboard that mention money. These are the specific problems they describe (one review can describe more than one):
- Refund refused by the developer11
- Free trial turned into a paid charge9
- Paid, then core features stayed locked3
- Charged a different amount or plan than expected2
What this means for you: Many reviewers say myCar: Car Widgets & Dashboard refused to refund them. If you paid through the App Store, the developer could not have refunded you anyway — only Apple can. Skip the developer's support and go straight to Apple (Step 2).
Step 1 — Stop the next charge
- On iPhone or iPad open Settings and tap your name at the very top.
- Tap Subscriptions, then myCar: Car Widgets & Dashboard.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. This is the single most common reason people keep getting charged.
Then check it actually worked
Look at the date line under the subscription. This one word tells you whether you are still being charged:
If it still says Renews, the cancellation did not go through — go back and do it again. Either way, a charge that already happened is refunded separately, in Step 2.
Step 2 — Ask Apple for the charge back
Answer these and you'll get the exact wording to paste into Apple's form. Nothing is sent anywhere — it's generated in your browser.
Free — the refund request to send Apple. No account, no email required.
$5.99 one time — the appeal letter for when Apple declines your first request, plus the chargeback letter for your card issuer if Apple still says no. Emailed to you. Not a subscription. Nothing renews. Full refund on request — see Refund Policy.
You're not the only one
Recent 1–2★ reviews of myCar: Car Widgets & Dashboard on the App Store, about billing:
I’ve tried everything step by step and this still doesn’t work. Waste of money. Will be getting a refund!!!
Seriously, I thought it was pretty cool. Downloaded it. Hell if I’m paying that much money for some stupid app to load up on my car. So to me, that’s a scam. There is nothing upfront that tells you that there’s an app cost. So total deleted.
This does not allow you to change the background of the screen as it shows and add widgets on top. It just allows widgets or some stupid AI version of you and your car. Total waste of money. Don't buy this

Questions
Can I get a refund after I already canceled myCar: Car Widgets & Dashboard?
Yes. Canceling stops future renewals but does not refund a charge that already went through. You request that separately at reportaproblem.apple.com, and "I was charged after I canceled the subscription" is the reason to select.
How long do I have to ask for a refund?
Apple generally expects refund requests within 90 days of the charge. Ask as soon as you notice it — requests on recent charges are approved more often.
Apple declined my request. Is that the end?
No. A first decline is common and is often automated. You can submit the request again with more specific facts and ask for review by a senior advisor. If it is declined again, you can dispute the charge with your card issuer.
Will I lose access to myCar: Car Widgets & Dashboard if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Canceling only stops the next renewal.
myCar: Car Widgets & Dashboard is not listed in my Apple subscriptions, but I am still being charged. What now?
Then Apple is not the one charging you — the company is billing your card or PayPal directly, and reportaproblem.apple.com will not help. Check your card or PayPal statement for the merchant name, cancel from your account on that company website, and ask them for the refund in writing. If they do not answer within a few days, dispute the charge with your bank or card issuer instead.
