What goes wrong with TapeACall Pro: Call Recorder billing
We read the 109 recent 1–2★ reviews of TapeACall Pro: Call Recorder that mention money. These are the specific problems they describe (one review can describe more than one):
- Charged a different amount or plan than expected6
What this means for you: The most common complaint is being charged a different amount or plan than expected — usually yearly instead of monthly, or twice. Open Apple's receipt email first: the Order ID and the exact amount turn a vague complaint into a specific billing error, which is what Apple's reviewers act on.
Step 1 — Stop the next charge
- On iPhone or iPad open Settings and tap your name at the very top.
- Tap Subscriptions, then TapeACall Pro: Call Recorder.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. This is the single most common reason people keep getting charged.
Then check it actually worked
Look at the date line under the subscription. This one word tells you whether you are still being charged:
If it still says Renews, the cancellation did not go through — go back and do it again. Either way, a charge that already happened is refunded separately, in Step 2.
Step 2 — Ask Apple for the charge back
Answer these and you'll get the exact wording to paste into Apple's form. Nothing is sent anywhere — it's generated in your browser.
Free — the refund request to send Apple. No account, no email required.
$5.99 one time — the appeal letter for when Apple declines your first request, plus the chargeback letter for your card issuer if Apple still says no. Emailed to you. Not a subscription. Nothing renews. Full refund on request — see Refund Policy.
You're not the only one
Recent 1–2★ reviews of TapeACall Pro: Call Recorder on the App Store, about billing:
I paid a one-time fee they offered (which was a lot) when I purchased the “PRO” version of this app. However, when I try to open and use it lately, it’s requiring that I purchase an ADDITIONAL subscription to be able to use/access the app… which I’ve already paid for! This is fraud – plain and simple. If you enjoy supporting businesses that scam people, this is the app for you. If not, I’d stay very far away. And it …
I paid $10 for this app, but after payment I found that it does not support my country (Iraq). This issue was not mentioned before purchase, and the app is completely unusable here. Please issue a full refund as I cannot use the service at all. This is a misleading charge for users outside supported regions. Thank you for your prompt attention. — Murtadha Alshabbani
This app was a great purchase when I bought it for $10 and now it requires a subscription at $8 A WEEK. Such a rip off

Questions
Can I get a refund after I already canceled TapeACall Pro: Call Recorder?
Yes. Canceling stops future renewals but does not refund a charge that already went through. You request that separately at reportaproblem.apple.com, and "I was charged after I canceled the subscription" is the reason to select.
How long do I have to ask for a refund?
Apple generally expects refund requests within 90 days of the charge. Ask as soon as you notice it — requests on recent charges are approved more often.
Apple declined my request. Is that the end?
No. A first decline is common and is often automated. You can submit the request again with more specific facts and ask for review by a senior advisor. If it is declined again, you can dispute the charge with your card issuer.
Will I lose access to TapeACall Pro: Call Recorder if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Canceling only stops the next renewal.
TapeACall Pro: Call Recorder is not listed in my Apple subscriptions, but I am still being charged. What now?
Then Apple is not the one charging you — the company is billing your card or PayPal directly, and reportaproblem.apple.com will not help. Check your card or PayPal statement for the merchant name, cancel from your account on that company website, and ask them for the refund in writing. If they do not answer within a few days, dispute the charge with your bank or card issuer instead.
